The Central Australia Nuclear Free Alliance needed to quickly put up a website as they formed to oppose a new nuclear waste dump proposal near Alice Springs. We put this site up in a hurry but with a flexible architecture in mind should the government go ahead with the proposal.
Encrypt the Internet with Let's Encrypt!
SSL encryption secures connection between your website and the visitors computer, so that any interactions they make such as pages they visit, forms they fill in, or credit card details they send, can't be intercepted while in transit.
It makes the jobs of hackers as well as government security agencies dragnet surveillance a whole lot harder, but until recently its been an added expense and difficult to implement.
Let's Encrypt has revolutionised the process of issuing certificates for encryption, making it free, automated, open source - and easy.
If you're site may handle any sensitive user info such as email adresses, or if you just wish to support the movement to encrypt the entire internet, let us know and we can get it up and running for you. The only downside is that it can't be used in conjunction with a free Cloudflare account
Check out some sites implementing SSL encryption with Let's Encrypt below:
Lawyers for Forests
Lawyers for Forests is an association of legal professionals working towards the protection and conservation of Australia’s remaining native forests. Their site had been built in 2003, but in 2015 it was hacked and it was time for a major upgrade.
Lizard Bites Back
The Desert Liberation Front needed a unique website to promote their carnival of protest against the world’s biggest Uranium Mine. We came up with this explosive design.
Taring Padi
The infamous Indonesian artist collective Taring Padi was paying too much for a host which didn’t meet their storage requirements. We migrated their site to help keep their archive of revolutionary artwork alive and online, and set up a shop for them to sell their wares internationally.
Timorlink
Timorlink has been working linking people in Australia and Timor Leste to work on language and development since 2001. They needed to update their site from a free website builder to a new look, and make it responsive before Google pulled unresponsive sites from their mobile search rankings. We helped make the move simple and […]
Tuff Guts
Tuffy had built an awesome portfolio site using WordPress.com, but needed a new theme to give it a fine-art finish. We built this site as a white wall gallery space for the artwork to take centre stage.
Post Polio Victoria
Post Polio Victoria had put together their own website with a default WordPress installation, but realised they needed some help understanding the difference between Pages and Posts, Categories and Tags when they thought that their website was ‘full’. We helped them to re-organise their site and redesign their theme for the modern era.
Livru Timor
Livru Timor had published a huge library of children’s books and translated them into 14 regional Timorese languages. As their library grew, their Dreamweaver site was unable to archive their massive catalogue, and it was hard for them to keep it up to date. We put WordPress to work as a fully featured CMS, managing […]
Learn Tetun
Timorlink did an awesome job at transforming their ten years of experience teaching Timorese language courses into an online resource. But they needed some help to fix some bugs and create a smoother and more engaging experience for students. You’ll have to pay to check out the online courses but if you’re interested to check […]
Pedalling for Papua
Pedalling for Papua was a spectacular creative action bringing awareness to the Indonesian occupation of West Papua. But less than a year after their campaign had ended, their website was down, and with it all their email contacts from all their countless encounters with supporters on their ride around the world. We missed their colourful […]
